How the Procedure Works

Halo is unlike any other laser, its uniqueness comes from the use of two wavelengths, a non-ablative and ablative wavelength. When combined, it provides a powerful synergistic effect resulting in superior results. Halo is a fractional resurfacing treatment that delivers thousands of tiny laser beams that treat only a fraction your skin at a time, therefore reducing downtime. Microscopic injuries are produced in the skin, promoting collagen and elastin production, improving fine lines and wrinkles and resurfacing damaged skin to reveal healthier, brighter, and even skin.

WHAT THE PROCEDURE FEELS LIKE

Prior to treatment, the skin is numbed for 30 minutes with a topical numbing agent. During the treatment there is a feeling of heat with occasional prickling sensations. Most patients rate the mild discomfort a 2-4 out of 10 depending on the settings being used. However, there is a chilling component combined with the machine that helps manage the discomfort significantly. Actual treatment time typically takes anywhere between 20 and 35 minutes.

Treatments will vary from individuals, depending on what the concerns are and if conditions are mild or severe. Typically, 3-5 sessions are recommended and spaced out 3-4 weeks apart. Although results are long-lasting, maintenance sessions are required as skin continually ages and is exposed to free radicals such as air pollutants and UV radiation.

What To Expect Immediately After Treatment

After the procedure there may be some pinkness and mild stinging for an hour or so, followed with some temporary bronzing which will flake off in a few days. In just a couple of weeks, you’ll have that Halo Glow!

When TO EXPECT RESULTS

Results will vary depending on individual skin conditions and targeted concerns. Initial results are expected between 3-5 days after treatment but will continue to improve over time. Most patients see the highest pigmentary improvement in the first 2-3 weeks. This is followed by a deeper skin regeneration phase that continues to improve for months resulting in reduced fine lines and wrinkles, reduced pore size, softened texture, and glowing skin.
